There’s nothing New Yorkers hate more than other people. If you ever take a trip to New York, you’re likely to hear at least a few “get out of my way”s — or, if you’re particularly unlucky, they’ll just hit you without making a comment.


That said, people keep flocking to the city, pissing off the locals and transplants alike in the process. For example, in this video, a group is making their best effort to take a nice selfie on a sidewalk, only to be stopped and called out by a man who’s just trying to live his life.

Maybe you want to show people that you’re moving to a new town; maybe you just like the visuals. But no matter why you do it, the “girl standing in front of moving train” trope is so prevalent that, if you’ve ever been on a subway platform, you’ve likely seen one of these photos in action.


There’s one crucial thing to note if you’re going to attempt a photo like this, however: You have to be a safe distance from the train. If you’re not, you might experience what happened to this girl.
