Police Discover Man Who’s Been Held Captive in House for 20 Years

In new bodycam footage, cops show the shocking moment he was discovered.

A 32-year-old Connecticut man is finally free after 20 years of being allegedly held in his home.

According to CBS News, firefighters arrived at the scene after reports about a fire on the premises. In the process of putting out the fire, first responders found the man in question, who weighed just 68 pounds.

While the team was treating him for smoke inhalation, he alleged that he had been imprisoned in an upstairs room since he was 11, in the process enduring years of abuse, neglect and starvation without medical or dental care.

Police have since arrested and charged the man’s 56-year-old stepmother, Kimberly Sullivan, with multiple offenses, including kidnapping, cruelty and reckless endangerment. Sullivan has denied the accusations, saying that she was simply caring for him and had no idea he was so unhappy (doing a pretty shit job if he’s just 68 pounds, Kimberly).

Sullivan is, rightfully, currently in custody.
