Formula 1 has gotten incredibly popular in recent years. That said, like anything trendy, it will likely hit a ceiling. Oh, your car can go fast? And now it’s going faster than last year? Big whoop!

That’s why some have seen the racing sports as an area that desperately needs innovation. That said, the innovation we’ve seen to date has sucked. For example, does anyone remember the self-driving car race? No? Exactly!

Because of this failure to invent, I propose going back into history and picking out some potential racing formulations that never hit the big leagues. Like, how about double-decker bus racing?
