There’s more danger underwater than just sharks!
Even if you’re underwater, you’re still at risk of being struck by lightning. While it’s rarer than strikes on land, there’s always a chance that you could be pelted with a bolt of electricity — or caught in the underwater pressure wave resulting from the strike itself.
For those who haven’t experienced it, being in the middle of an underwater lightning strike can be pretty difficult to imagine. However, these scuba divers managed to capture an incredible video of what it’s like to have the water you’re in hit by lightning in real time.
It doesn’t look fun!
