'South Park' Perfectly Explains How Ass-Backwards America Healthcare Is
Leave it to South Park to better explain the insane hoops the American healthcare system forces the average person to navigate than Congress.
If you've ever been sick or have known someone who has, or, if you've ever been to a doctor or refused access to a doctor you used to visit then you know just how insane insurance is.
In most of the developed world healthcare costs are a fraction of the price that Americans pay. For example, in the U.S. the average cost of delivering a baby is $18, 865. In the U.K., it's 2,000 – 6,000 pounds.
What makes this bit great is South Park could have just written a single joke, but instead, they take you back and forth from doctor to insurance to really drive home the point.
