What a week it’s been, huh? From South Korea briefly having martial law, to the country of Georgia being filled with protesters bearing firework guns, to the UnitedHealthcare CEO getting assassinated and everyone collectively shrugging their shoulders, it really seems like the universe is compensating for an uneventful year by packing in all the news right at the end
On that note, did you hear that the Syrian government collapsed? I know, who woulda thought!
Earlier this week, opposition fighters captured Damascus while the now-former leader, Bashar al-Assad, fled to Russia. People in Syria are celebrating the fall of Assad — though, given that the opposition fighters aren’t exactly moderates, the future of the country is unclear.
Now that Assad is gone, however, people are beginning to break into institutions and take back what they believe had been stolen from them, in one way or another. This includes looting Assad’s house, freeing prisoners and more. And, lucky for us, they got it all on video!
