The Time Adam Savage Was Asked To Do A Show On 9/11
In 2008, Adam Savage – the jovial host of MythBusters – was speaking at The Last Hope, a hacker conference held by hacker magazine 2600: The Hacker Quarterly when he was asked a question by an audience member about when his fans could expect him to "bust" the 9/11 "myth."
'I've been curious since 2001 why you haven't built a scale model of the World Trade Center, with the I-beams and everything, and let's see what actually would happen." Once the man at the mic finished the room broke out in cheer.
According to Savage, the reason he and Jamie never tackled recreating the collapse of the Twin Towers comes down to "the scale and budget" and needing to turn around shows in 7-days, not how insensitive it would be to the thousands of people who died on 9/11. But he did say, "It's on our list. It's been on our list for a long time."
