Good boy!

At the beginning of the new year, Romania and Bulgaria finally entered the Schengen Area. While both countries had been part of the European Union, they hadn’t yet fulfilled all of the requirements for joining Schengen. Now that they have, people traveling in the EU can enter the country without having their passport stamped. How fun!

Of course, the opening of these borders called for a celebration. But who should be the first to cross the border? A politician? A veteran? A local celebrity?

Nah. Instead of going for someone of note and with esteem, Romania decided to celebrate the opening of its border by letting through a random dog — and clapping the entire time he walked.
