As A.I. continues to get more and more sophisticated, TikTok is being flooded with A.I. songs produced in the style of incredibly famous artists. Some are downright bizarre — “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White T’s performed by Kanye West comes to mind — but some fans think others sound genuinely good, like this clip of A.I. Drake.

Those across Reddit and TikTok were pleasantly surprised by the song, which is a pretty convincing imitation of Drake’s style. One fan pointed out that “I fuck with her body she fuck with my mind is a Drake bar,” while another said the song “goes harder than actual Drake I cannot lie.” To that end, many fans said Drake should make it official and record the A.I. songs himself.

Most artists who have gone viral for A.I. songs haven’t spoken out about the technology or their concerns around their likenesses and voices being used, but Grimes, ever the technophile, has encouraged fans to use her voice to create A.I. songs. She’s even gone so far as to launch a new A.I. voice software, Elf.Tech, to help facilitate the creation of A.I.-generated Grimes tracks. (Her only requirement is that fans give her 50 percent of the royalties their A.I. songs earn.)

On the other end of the spectrum, record labels are going after A.I.-generated songs for copyright infringement, but according to The Verge, it’s not as straightforward as it may seem, as there’s no precedent for whether Drake the human can stop Drake the A.I. from upstaging him with fake tracks that sound better than anything he’s released in years.
