As if Spirit Airlines couldn’t get any worse.

If you haven’t flown Spirit Airlines before, well, good for you. For the uninitiated, flying on Spirit Airlines is an experience equivalent to Dante’s inferno, except at least the heating works in the inferno. Passengers have documented everything from waiting seven hours to fly, to other passengers showing up to their flights half naked, to all-out brawls happening mid-flight. At least the ticket was cheap!

Now, another incident has gone down on a Spirit flight: The toilet began leaking all over the aisles.

@dailymail This is the moment when Passengers on board a Spirit Airlines flight from Atlanta to Newark were left disgusted seeing liquid spilling out from a lavatory. An aione spokesperson described the cause as “an issue with a potable water line connected to a sink in the rear lavatory.” #airplane #flight #passengers #reaction #water #fail ♬ Comedy Scenes - Comical, stupid, odd, lovely (Drumless)(1441321) - Ponetto

According to a Spirit spokesperson, this took place Monday on Spirit flight 1595. The cause of the problem, the airline told them, was related to a “potable water line connected to a sink in the rear lavatory.”

Thank goodness it wasn’t the sewage line.

That said, something like that can only be realized in retrospect. As all the passengers on the plane saw was water pouring out of the toilet, their reaction — one of terror and tears — is more than understandable.

Spirit says that they were able to resolve the issue by the time the next flight took off, but knowing them, their “solution” was probably just putting a wet floor sign in the middle of the aisle.
