Lego artist Nathan Sawaya transforms Legos into fine art. He gave up his career as a corporate lawyer to dedicate his time to the hugely complex works, which include a dinosaur skeleton 80,020 pieces and convincing renditions of paintings by the likes of Van Gogh and Monet. The New York-based artist only uses basic Lego blocks. Remarkably he also completely avoids specialty pieces with curves or slopes and pieces from Lego's more complex Technic kits. -

Sawaya has also included a portrait of his partner, Courtney 4,125 bricks. "Poor Courtney has to tolerate a man who plays with Lego bricks all day," he said. -
