It’s both beautiful and terrifying.

The United States is the only country in history to use a nuclear bomb against one of its enemies — and, of course, the only one to do it twice. These bombs caused such devastation that the world collectively decided that we should do our best to avoid dropping them on each other; instead, we’ll just quietly *threaten* to do so over and over again.

Still, even though we have the tech pretty much figured out, the military has frequently done tests to determine the capability of their devices. These tests are stunning to see, even if the whole “this could cause the end of the world” thing might bring some people pause.
